Problem

An aeronautical maintenance operator (MRO) was certified according to quality, environmental and safety standards on multiple sites, each site enlisting distinct management systems. As a consequence, each system was audited differently, creating understandable tension among staff.

Solution

The operator decided to define a unique management system, with a common basis that would be as far-reaching as possible, relying only when necessary on specific standards. Struktura led the integrated certification audit team on the environmental part, defining guidelines to ensure a consistent approach from the audit team and identifying the way to integrate that standard in the global audit.

Result

Struktura analysed all the audit findings (there were several hundred) and presented material graphically emphasizing these conclusions from different perspectives: by process, by standard or by subject, thus providing the management team with unprecedented visibility of the performance of its management system. The operator is now audited only once, following a single system.
